DaVita to Manage TLC Family Healthcare Clinic

Facility Caters to TLC Plumbing & Utility Employees and Family Members

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (June 29, 2016) – DaVita recently announced its partnership with the “Family Care with a little TLC” clinic. The clinic, which opened on May 9 at 4343 Pan American NE, Suite 235, caters to the employees of TLC Plumbing & Utility and their families. The location offers acute illness visits, injury treatment, preventative care and other minor medical services to the mechanical contractor’s more than 450 employees, their spouses, and dependents.

TLC believes that the services at the clinic have been earned through the employee’s dedication, commitment, and hard work; TLC provided health insurance is not a requirement to be seen at the Family Care clinic. The clinic is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Tuesday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“Just as its employees have devoted themselves to quality service and honest dealing, TLC knows that by giving back by facilitating sports physicals, flu shots, and wellness physicals, lab work and other medical services it is providing time- and money-saving benefits for the TLC community,” said DaVitas Market President Aric Coffman. “ DaVita is looking forward to delivering comprehensive health services in a professional, nurturing environment.”

ABQ has appointed Physician Assistant William “Bill” Wahlert to manage the TLC Family Health Care Clinic. Wahlert’s career in health care spans more than 50 years, beginning with a twenty-three year career with the United States Air Force. Wahlert holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska as well as a Master’s Degree of Physician Assistant Studies from University of Nebraska.

For nearly 30 years, locally owned and operated TLC has provided top quality plumbing, heating, cooling, construction and utility service throughout New Mexico. Like many independent businesses, TLC continuously seeks ways to improve its employees quality of life while providing excellent benefits and maintaining productivity.

“We count respect and compassion among our core values, and keeping our TLC family healthy is a big part of that commitment,” TLC Founder Dale Armstrong said. “We believe the wide range of care available from DaVita and the “Family Care with a little TLC” clinic, will attract and retain the kind of honest, hard-working people that have made us successful for the three decades.”

Dedicated employer-maintained health clinics are a growing trend as employers seek innovative benefits to attract and keep quality workers. By partnering with quality providers, companies often are able to lower their employee health care costs – an important consideration when in today’s competitive marketplace.  Companies also see their investment in health care facilities as a way to increase productivity. Shorter wait times, before- and after-work appointments and one-stop convenience help workers get better care sooner, and back to work quicker.   ###
