Field Superindendent

TLC Plumbing & Utility has an opening to join our award winning team as a:

Field Superintendent: This position is responsible for coordinating, communicating, overseeing, monitoring, drive, and troubleshoot projects. Will also assist with reporting to ensure that communications, budgets, schedules, and all interactions with customers, subcontractors, vendors, staff, and management run smoothly. Must have knowledge of design and costing of industrial piping, mechanical and electrical projects.   Will be a liaison between the department managers and the field foreman. Also, fill the gap in the event of a department manager loss.

Essential Functions will include:

  • Basic computer knowledge, including but not exclusively: Microsoft office to organize and communicate with others, use of Excel spreadsheets and Word documents, Maximo and ViewPoint.
  • Recognized expert in all aspects of residential/light commercial plumbing.
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and Safety requirements for all aspects of the service trade.
  • Train and educate in the areas of the service trade. (HVAC/Plumbing)
  • Strong HVAC installation and design skills.

HVAC/Boiler Tech

TLC Plumbing & Utility has an opening to join our award winning team as an:

HVAC/Boiler Tech: This position must be familiar with the maintenance of commercial/industrial boiler repairs. The technician must obtain a certified boiler operator license in New Mexico (BO1 and BO2) and have worked in a variety of settings in the commercial arena.

Essential Functions will include:

  • Work hours will be determined at the time of hire and could change as needed
  • Able to do boiler, chiller, HVAC systems & air cond., start up and shut down
  • Able to set control limits, switches and alarms
  • Able to troubleshoot problems and make repairs
  • Able to service and maintain a wide variety of equipment
  • Able to work in a wide range of conditions and a wide range of hours

Admin Assistant

TLC Plumbing & Utility has an opening to join our award winning team as an Administrative Assistant.  This position provides administrative support to the entire Admin Division, including all departments with special emphasis on Safety and Contract support.

Essential Functions will include:

  • Able to input information into Viewpoint and retrieve data for all required tasks.
  • Able to stay current with all software used at TLC including all Microsoft functions.
  • Able to maintain information and aptitude through professional development.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and transfer knowledge pertaining to all departments in Admin.
  • Able to coach department supervisors and managers or re-direct as appropriate.

VAC CDL Operator

Did you know that TLC Plumbing & Utility maintains a fleet of over 200 vehicles and over 30,000 lbs. of heavy equipment in house? If you are one of the “best of the best” and looking for a new endeavor; TLC Plumbing & Utility has an opening to join our award winning team as a:

VAC Truck CDL Driver: To ensure the safety of our fellow co-workers, the community, and our customers while transferring equipment/fleet to and from TLC in the safest, most efficient manner possible. Maintain all delivery vehicles to meet DOT standards and TLC’s standard of cleanliness and organization. Fulfill all paperwork duties to comply with DOT and TLC.

Essential Functions will include:

  • Safety – able to follow all safety guidelines and ensure the safety all personnel within the work zone.
  • Specifications – know and understand limitations of the VAC truck you’re operating
  • Layout – knows how to layout work per survey stakes.
  • Material – knows the material and the proper process of placing it.
  • Maintenance – knows where to locate and check for fuel, oil, antifreeze, and grease points.
  • Must have a current, valid, and clean CDL driver’s license and demonstrate the ability to drive safely and uphold TLC’s image (care for the community).
  • Be able to physically handle the demanding work schedule and use of all different types of heavy tools and machinery.
  • Understand schedules and deliver within the time allotted.
  • Must have VAC truck operator experience.

Asphalt Paving Roller Operator

TLC Plumbing & Utility has an opening to join our award winning team as an Asphalt Paving Roller Operator.

Requirements include:

  • Experience and ability to utilize roller equipment and/or power broom with attention to detail and emphasis on craftsmanship.
  • Ability to withstand common vibratory motion associated with operation of most roller equipment and occasionally rough terrain.
  • Must partner with other crewmembers to pave projects utilizing the roller equipment and must perform additional tasks of other positions per plan specifications as instructed by crew foreman to ensure daily schedules/estimates are met.
  • Physical ability to operate equipment under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8-12 hours.
  • May be required to use power/and or hand tools needed to complete the jobs within specifications.
  • Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal efficiency level.
  • Attitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and public.
  • Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required. Out of town/county/state work may be required.
  • Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition.
  • Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion.
  •  Perform daily maintenance and safety checks.

Drain Technician

We currently have an opening to join our award winning team as a Drain Technician. As a drain tech you will be responsible for providing customer focused service on a daily basis to ensure a safe work environment, high-quality work and high work and high rate of production.

Essential Functions will include:

  • Work hours 40+ dependent upon work load , overtime likely
  • On call once every five weeks
  • Operating drain cleaning equipment, cable machine, hydro-jetter or Vactor truck.
  • Small plumbing repairs
  • Confined work space
  • Strong communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of using standard hand and power tools
  • Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions properly
  • Physical agility aimed at performing difficult manual labor
  • Ability to recognize hazards and take measures to avoid them
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with technical teams
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and Safety requirements for all aspects of the service trade.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot areas of plumbing drainage systems.
  • Aptitude for running camera inspection equipment for drainage systems
  • Journeyman Plumbing License a plus but not required

Small Utility Operator

We have an opening to join our award winning team as a Small Utility Operator for our Service Division. As a Small Utility Employee, you will be responsible for performing a variety of repair and rehabilitation duties, keeping utility systems such as water and sewer up and running at all times.  You will troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to residential and commercial water and sewer systems, ensuring the project is done to TLC standards.  You will perform utility work within streets, right of ways and high traffic areas, while maintaining OSHA safety requirements at all times.

Essential Functions will include:

  • Work 40 + hours per week , overtime dependent upon work load but likely
  • On call work once every five weeks
  • Operating a backhoe, bobcat, pipe bursting or thrust boring equipment.
  • Concrete work when needed: pour and finish for project completion
  • Asphalt removal ,replacement, and raking
  • Performing water, sewer Taps and lateral work
  • Water and sewer line repairs and replacements in yards, parking lots and city streets
  • Operator certification and experience required, practical evaluation performed before hire
  • CDL license preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of shoring and benching requirements for excavation work
  • Knowledge of Permitting and Barricading requirements for excavations
  • In-depth knowledge of using standard hand and power tools
  • Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions properly
  • Solid knowledge of installing and maintaining utility systems
  • Ability to read pipeline drawings, blueprints and maps
  • Knowledge of precautions necessary for ensuring a safe work environment for self and coworkers
  • Physical agility aimed at performing difficult manual labor
  • Ability to recognize hazards and take measures to avoid them
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with technical teams

Commercial HVAC-R Tech

TLC has an opening to join our award winning team as a:

Commercial HVAC-R Tech: To provide customer focused service. To maintain, diagnose and repair HVAC-R equipment. Work with co-workers to ensure that our customers are 100% satisfied and that we are able to meet our goals as a company. An ideal candidate must have a Journeyman Refrigeration license AND a Journeyman Gasfitter license AND a Universal EPA certification with 3-5 years of service and repair experience of commercial HVAC-R systems. Responsibilities will include servicing HVAC and Refrigeration equipment for commercial accounts.

Essential Functions will include:

  • 40+ hours per work week
  • 7:30am – 5:00pm approx.
  • 1/2 hour lunch required
  • Journeyman license with 3-5 year HVAC-R experience
  • Rotating On-call and emergency
  • Ability and technical knowledge to service, diagnosis and repair all manner of HVAC –R equipment
  • Technical knowledge and ability to size, and replace HVAC-R equipment and train others to do the same.
  • Knowledge to assess multiple types of refrigerants, pressure readings and set points
  • Sizing and installation of all manner of equipment
  • Strong aptitude for reading diagrams and schematics

Welder

TLC Plumbing and Utility has an opening to join our award winning team as a:

Welder: The welding position will require the welder to work independently and within a team environment. Welders are expected to be able to layout, design, and complete projects on their own. Production is closely monitored and time frames to complete projects will be given

Essential Functions will include:

  • Work hours will be determined at the time of hire, and could change as needed
  • Have certifications for the types of welding you do or be working on getting them. Must be proficient at Stick and MIG welding.
  • Need the ability to design, layout, create processes and systems to gain higher production
  • Should be able to operate the computer aided plasma torch and develop new patterns in the system
  • Be able to physically handle the demanding work schedule and use of all different types of heavy tools and machinery
  • Use computers for time card and other company forms/paperwork

We also offer an array of skill training opportunities that will range through administrative skills, technical skills, and job specific skills that are pertinent to an employee’s job responsibilities.
