Yard Technician

We currently have an opening to join our award winning team as a Yard Technician. A Yard Technician must be able to provide great customer service in person, on the phone, and over the radio. You will need excellent organizational skills and complete all your work on time. You will need to have a vast knowledge of every aspect of Assets and will be looked at as the hub of Assets. You will need to be able to lift heavy equipment/tools and work in all types of weather. Operating a forklift and other pieces of equipment will be part of your daily work.

Essential Functions will include:

  • The ability to complete a forklift safety training and acquire a certificate allowing you to operate a forklift and other pieces of equipment
  • Have a valid and current driver’s license
  • A fundamental knowledge of equipment maintenance and service
  • The ability to perform preventative service to all types of equipment
  • The ability to think fast, react even faster, and make the people you are helping feel important
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry or have the ability to learn quickly while applying great customer service skills

Shop Mechanic

We currently have an opening to join our award winning team as a Shop Mechanic. A Shop Mechanic’s objective is to maintain, repair and provide preventative maintenance to Fleet/Equipment. A Shop Mechanic will mostly work independently, possess great diagnostic skills and will need to provide both self-motivation and the tools required to perform the task at hand.

Essential Functions will include:

  • Be able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Diagnose all systems on our Fleet/Equipment including but not limited to engines, hydraulic, electrical, drive train, body components, computer and software
  • Be able to work on all different types and sizes of Fleet/Equipment
  • Be physically able to handle the demanding work schedule and use of all different types of heavy tools and machinery
  • Use computers for diagnostic purposes as well as time card and other company forms/paperwork

Remodel Technician

We currently have an opening to join our award winning team as a Remodel Technician.  As a Remodel Technician with the TLC Remodel Department you will be expected to perform daily work tasks associated with the construction trades as they relate to each specific job. You will also be required to have excellent customer service skills and maintain a professional working relationship with both customers and all TLC employees. You will be expected to have a high quality work standard and a high rate of production.

Essential Functions will include:

  • A strong understanding of OSHA regulations and Safety requirements for all aspects of the service trade and in all aspects of residential/light commercial remodel trades
  • Aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair as well as strong plumbing installation skills
  •  The ability to train and educate in areas of the remodel trades
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong carpentry skills, strong tile skills, ability to patch and repair walls, ceilings and floors
  • Some knowledge of Electrical and HVAC as they relate to remodel

Drain Technician

We currently have an opening to join our award winning team as a Drain Technician. As a drain tech you will be responsible for providing customer focused service on a daily basis to ensure a safe work environment, high-quality work and high work and high rate of production.

Essential Functions will include:

  • Work hours 40+ dependent upon workload , overtime likely
  • On call once every five weeks
  • Operating drain cleaning equipment, cable machine, and hydro-jetter or Vactor truck.
  • Small plumbing repairs
  • Confined space work

Position requirements:

  • Strong communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of using standard hand and power tools
  • Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions properly
  • Physical agility aimed at performing difficult manual labor
  • Ability to recognize hazards and take measures to avoid them
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with technical teams
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and Safety requirements for all aspects of the service trade.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot areas of plumbing drainage systems.
  • Aptitude for running camera inspection equipment for drainage systems
  • Journeyman Plumbing License a plus but not required

Paving Superintendent

TLC Plumbing & Utility currently has an opening to join our award winning team as a Paving Superintendent. This is a management position requiring incumbent to supervise and coordinate activities of Asphalt Paving Foremen and crew members engaged in spreading, rolling, tamping, and patching asphalt or similar material to form surfaces of highways, streets, parking lots, aircraft landing strips and driveways.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the safety of crew members and the public who may interact with the job.
  • Trains Asphalt Foremen and new crew members.
  • Calculates the number of trucks required to haul asphalt from the hot plant according to vehicle capacity, traffic conditions, distance from the work site, and productivity of drivers.
  • Tours job sites to ascertain progress in meeting time schedules, to detect insufficient utilization of workers and equipment, ensure slope and material thickness to verify compliance with contracts, and to supervise the job.
  • Keep progress schedule current, review schedule status and job costs at a minimum of once a week.
  • Supervises and coordinates crew activities, studies production schedules, and estimates work requirements for completion of job assignment in compliance with or beating the job estimate.
  • Maintains time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing, prepares progress reports material used, cost and adjusts work schedule accordingly.
  • Maintains company policies.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and crew performance.
  • Will directly supervise multiple crews.

Education and Skill Requirements:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required and at least 5 years of related asphalt and paving experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to type and use keyboards accurately and possess knowledge of database software.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ability to keep time and material records.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills and attributes.
  • Capability for making sound and accurate judgments based on the information.
  • Conscientious attitude towards controlling job costs and adhering to progress schedules.
  • Ability to think outside the box in order to recognize issues or opportunities.

Pipe Layer

TLC Plumbing & Utility has an opening to join our award winning team as a Pipe Layer.

Required attributes for this position includes:

  • Familiar with Spring Line Tamping
  • Knowledgeable in properly installing mega lug and harness lugs
  • Experienced in building amanholes
  • Solid understanding of installing RCP, HDPE, C-900, SDR-35, ETC
  • Ability to check slopes for conformance to requirements, using eye level or pipe laser
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Utility
  • A strong work history

Concrete Finisher

TLC Plumbing & Utility has an opening to join our award winning team as a Concrete Finisher.

Required attributes for this position include:

  • Able to smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures, using hand tools or power tools, including floats, trowels, and screeds
  • Knowledgeable in spreading concrete into inaccessible sections of forms, using rake or shovel
  • Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency
  • Molds expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge
  • Assist in subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting forms
  • Experience – preferred 3 years’ experience in concrete form work which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities listed above
  • A strong work history

Utility Operator

Laborer

TLC Plumbing & Utility has an opening to join our award winning team as a Laborer.

Required attributes for this position includes:

  • Entry level position which requires physical endurance to include loading/unloading equipment, digging and other strenuous activities
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
  • Familiar with using hand tools
  • Clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 75 pounds repeatedly during a shift
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Construction

Commercial HVAC Tech

TLC Plumbing & Utility has an opening to join our award winning team as a Commercial HVAC Technician to provide customer focused service. To maintain, diagnose and repair HVAC equipment. Work with co-workers to ensure that our customers are 100% satisfied and that we are able to meet our goals as a company. Encourage and coach junior technicians to grow and learn all aspects of this industry and TLC culture. We are looking for a licensed technician with more than 3 years of experience.

Essential Functions will include:

  • 40 + Hours
  • 7:30 am – 5:00
  • 1/2 hour required
  • Journeyman license with 3 years HVAC experience
  • Rotating On-call and emergency
  • Ability and technical knowledge to service, diagnosis, and repair all manner of HVAC equipment
  • Technical knowledge and ability to size, and replace HVAC equipment and train others to do the same.
  • Knowledge to assess multiple types of refrigerants, pressure readings, and set points

Sheet Metal Journeyman - El Paso

TLC Plumbing & Utility currently has an opening to join our award winning team as a Sheet Metal Journeyman for a project that will be based out of El Paso, TX.

Technician will be responsible for building relationships with coworkers and customers, ensuring growth of their personal customer base. Maintaining standards set forth by the department such as: tool lists, vehicle organization, and standard material stock. Maintaining the consistency of the group by working harmoniously with coworkers, providing the same product from employee to employee. Journeyman Pipefitter - El Paso

TLC Plumbing & Utility has an opening to join our award winning team as a Journeyman Pipefitter for a project in El Paso, TX.

This position is responsible for assembling and installing pipe systems, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Installs pipe for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubrication, sprinkling, industrial production, and processing systems.

Must have knowledge of design and costing of industrial piping, mechanical and electrical projects.   Will be a liaison between the department managers and the field foreman. Also, to fill the gap in the event of a department manager loss.

We train our field employees in the fundamental safety trainings such as OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, GHS Hazardous Communication, Competent Person, Confined Space, CPR/First Aid Safety and OSHA related weekly toolbox talks. We also offer an array of skill training opportunities that will range through administrative skills, technical skills, and job specific skills that are pertinent to an employee’s job responsibilities. These training opportunities are taught in-house through the training department or by qualified third party trainers.
