What are customers say
Our water heater exploded one early afternoon. We called TLC to help. I wanted a certain type of new water heater, but the technician ... was extremely honest about the price and time it would take to switch, both which were prohibitive. We replaced with an upgraded model of what we had. Features were added to make it more safe and to current code. TLC set up the city inspection so we didn't have to. When the inspector arrived, it was perfect. He said it is rare that he finds anything wrong with a TLC installation. Our problem was considered an emergency, so we had same day service--it took just a few hours. Very pleased.

Zion from TLC came to our apartment today to fix a plumbing issue after our maintenance team determined it was past the point where they...could fix it and man, we are so glad they called him. He was extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He ended up coming at 5 pm on a Friday and saw it was going to be quite the undertaking, but that didn't phase him at all! He ended up staying until it was finished, which ended up being close to 6 pm! We were so impressed that he stayed so late and was still so kind to us on top of all that he had to park far from the Unit and carry all his tools to and from the apartment. This dude is a saint.Once he left, we were actually able to take a shower after being limited to baths for a week! We are so thankful for Zion and will remember this experience in the future when we need a plumber as homeowners. Thank you!

We were hearing the sound of a water leak in the wall of our kitchen. Called TLC for emergency service. Within an hour we had a very ...knowledgeable tech on sight who worked quickly to diagnose this issue and offer options. Unfortunately, the leak was a result of the use of polybutylene piping. He was willing to repair the leak but assured us this was just the first leak of what will be many due to the faulty materials used in the construction of the house. He recommended re-piping the entire house. After doing some research, we decided to do the re-pipe. TLC got us a quote within 2 days. They were on-site one day latter and the work was completed within three days. The team doing the work was exceptionally professional and patient with the elderly women living in the home, answering questions and reassuring them of the progress being made. The entire endeavor could have been stressful and anxiety filled -- but it wasn't. It was a learning experience that ended with a sense of accomplishment and confidence on the part of the home owners. A special thanks to Doug and his team for their exceptional professionalism, approachability, knowledge and hard work.

Signs your water heater needs to be repaired
If you notice any of the following issues with your water heater, you probably need a repair:
You have no hot water. One of the most common signs that your water heater needs repaired is having little to no hot water. Many different water heater problems can cause this. You’ll need to have a qualified plumber inspect your water heater. If you’re without hot water, we consider that an emergency. Call TLC at (505) 761-9644 and we’ll dispatch a plumber as soon as possible.
Your hot water is rust-colored. If you notice rust-colored hot water coming from your faucets, it’s a sign that the interior of the water heater is deteriorating. Unfortunately, it’s difficult and expensive to repair the inside of a water tank. We recommend a full replacement instead.
You hear loud noises. Popping noises or loud cracking sounds coming from your tank water heater are a sure sign of sediment buildup. Because New Mexico has such hard water, mineral deposits settle in the bottom of your tank. Over time, it forms a crusted layer which traps boiling water beneath it. Flushing your tank once a year should fix the problem. If you don’t get your tank flushed, you risk the water heater operating less efficiently and possibly giving out sooner than it should.
Your water heater is leaking. Leaks can happen in both tank and tankless water heaters and are a sign that something is seriously wrong! The minute you notice a leak, call a professional plumber. If you leave a leak unattended, you run the risk of it building into a costly repair or replacement.
You need frequent repairs. If your water heater has needed a lot of repairs recently, it’s probably time to get another one. This is especially true if your water heater is 10+ years old.
