1. Movies

This is always one of our favorite spots to check out in the summer. You can take your family to a matinee, some of which are free or discounted. There are some great theaters around town. However, any time of day you go you’ll be sure to stay cool and comfortable here.

2. Grab some frozen yogurt

Visit one of the many yogurt shops in Albuquerque or Rio Rancho and enjoy a cup of your favorite flavor with your choice of toppings to cool off.

3. Ice Skating

Did you know that the ice skating rinks are open in the summer? Check out the Outpost Ice Arena or McDermott Ice Rink in Rio Rancho and ice skate for a price of $1-$10 dollars, depending on age. Need to plan a kids summer birthday party? Host a birthday bash at either arena without having to worry about melting outside.

bowling

4. Bowling

You can be in the cool indoors while working on your game skills. Find a place like Isleta Fun Connection for additional fun indoor activities. Got kids, be sure to check out the Kids Bowl Free Summer Program.
