Why is my Hot Water Heater too Hot?

Why is my Hot Water Heater too Hot?

If you feel like your water temperature from your faucets is too hot you should check your water heater first. Gas water heaters are the most common type of water heaters in Albuquerque & Santa Fe. If you have a gas water heater you should check the temperature on the thermostat first. It usually has a dial to adjust either labeled A B or C, A being the lowest temperature and C being the hottest. Other dials may have temperatures ranging between 90 and 150 degrees. If the dial is set too high reduce it and see if you notice a difference in temperature.

However, if your thermostat is set to a lower setting already or you have attempted to adjust the temperature and it is still scalding you may have a problem with your thermostat. If you have adjusted the dial and see no difference in temperature your valve assembly likely needs to be replaced. This type of repair should only be performed by a professional plumber. You should call TLC or another professional for service.
