10 Reasons to Invest in Ductless Heating and Cooling

10 Reasons to Invest in Ductless Heating and Cooling Posted by on January 20, 2014 in Air Conditioning, Energy Efficiency, Heating

When it’s time to upgrade your heating and cooling system, you may want to do more than install a new air conditioner.  At TLC Plumbing, we can recommend and install ductless split systems that provide quality thermal control that is highly energy efficient.

So why switch to this system?

Reasons for Ductless Heating & Cooling

1. Thermal Control for Every Room

While many other heating and cooling systems provide comfort throughout your home, a split system has more control – giving you the power to lower the temperature in the kitchen without changing the temperature in other rooms.

2. No Duct Work

Because a mini split system does not require duct work, it is an excellent option for older homes where duct systems are not feasible.

3. Energy Savings

Ductless systems are one of the most energy efficient systems on the market. Because the system has multiple thermostats, homeowners find themselves only using heating and cooling in occupied spaces, saving them money on their utility bills.

4. No Loss of Cool Air

Because the air does not have to travel through ductwork, there are less energy losses that can add up on your electric bill.

5. Quiet Operation

Compressors and condensers are located in the outside unit, making indoor air conditioning extremely quiet and peaceful.

6. Year Round Relief

No more switch-overs! When the weather starts getting warm again, just turn down the thermostat and the air conditioning will start.

7. Sleek Design

Say goodbye to the hassle of window units!  The sleek design of ductless heating and cooling can be suspended from the ceiling or the top of walls.

8. You Can Build One Zone at a Time

Because of the system design, it’s easy to add on new zones if you only want to start with one room.

9. Safer Than Window Units

Mini-split systems offer more security for your home as they do not require an unsecured window be left open for mounting.

10. Rebates May Be Available

Depending on where the ductless system is installed (school, commercial building, residential home), government rebates and tax credits may be available.
